ECOLOGICAL PROJECT

GIVE ME A CAP” PROJECT

”You now have the chance to help by simply offering a CAP.  These caps will be used for creating an ecological drawing in Breaza, with the theme: Protecting the environment. If you are willing to help, send me a private message on Cleaning Breaza Facebook page. Thank you! Whether they come from bottles, water cans or jars, put the screw caps in a bag and bring them to me! Do not throw them away!! HELP & SHARE!!”

This is how we started in 2015….

”I was in the kitchen, playing with some plastic screw caps, arranging them in different ways, when suddenly it hit me: Why do we throw away these plastic caps?! What else could we use them for? How could we get some more? I talked about this with my friend, Mr. George Sbână, and we set up the project, we began organizing ourselves and sharing the idea with our close friends.”

We decided we would make the board outside, after we had gathered at least 1500 coloured caps. We were going to use all those different PET screw caps to create an ”ecological” drawing, based on 3 main themes: ”Breaza”, ”Ecology” and ”Recycling”. So said, so done!

”For three months, every Monday at 5 p.m.  we waited in front of the Town Hall, next to the bus stop, TO RECEIVE A CAP!”

The yellow phosphorescent, waterproof backpack –was slowly filling up  with CAPS. After the first 527 pieces, we ranked them in a TOP:

1. BLUE

2. GREEN

3. RED

4. YELLOW

5. BLACK

6. ORANGE

7. GREY

8. WHITE

9. OTHERS

When we collected more than 2000 caps we said: STOP COLLECTING – START CREATING THE ECOLOGICAL DRAWING

The final image of the board, the drawing that sent an ecological message would have not been possible  without the vision and the artistic touch of Vlad Balanoiu, who worked by my side for an entire  week, passionately and excitedly, so that in the end, we could transmit our message to the people in Breaza and to the people ALL OVER THE WORLD:
